Agenda posting provision change passes committee

Members of the House State Affairs committee unanimously passed a bill that requires a governmental entity to post their meeting agenda in a public place for a continuous 24-hour period prior to the meeting.

ASBSD Director of Policy and Legal Services Gerry Kaufman testified in support of House Bill 1125, which would add the “continuous” provision to law, on behalf of the Association. Kaufman said HB 1125 would “clarify the intent of the legislature” related to the posting of meeting agendas. For updates on HB 1125 and other legislation, check the ASBSD Blog and Bill Tracker page.

The bill now moves to the House floor for review and vote.
