Nominations being accepted for national award

The National School Board Association’s (NSBA) publication, the American School Board Journal, is seeking applicants for the Magna Awards.

Presented for the past 20 years, the Magna Awards highlight best practices of school district leadership and are judged according to three enrollment categories: under 5,000 enrollment; 5,000-20,000 enrollment; and over 20,000 enrollment.

One grand prize winner is selected in each category and receives a $5,000 contribution from Sodexo – the awards sponsor. There are five additional winners and five honorable mention winners within each enrollment category.

You can learn about the Magna Awards and submission process here and review past winners applications in the Magna Awards Best Practices Database.

Nominations must be received by midnight on October 31, 2014 and must be made online. The online nomination form is available here. Magna Awards recipients are recognized at the Best Practices for School Leaders Luncheon at the NSBA Annual Conference.
