HB 1150: Requires the reciting of the pledge of allegiance each school day in every public school.
As of July 1, 2014, each school district must provide all students the opportunity to salute the United States and the flag, each day, by reciting the pledge of allegiance to the flag, a student may choose not to participate, and a student who does not participate in the salute shall “maintain a respectful silence” during the pledge of allegiance.

PATRIOTIC EXERCISES & FLAG DISPLAYS
The American flag will be flown from the mast at each school every day that school is in session. The principalof the attendance center is responsible for flying the flag on school days. A small flag shall be provided for each classroom. The District shall provide all students the opportunity to salute the United States and the flag each day by reciting the pledge of allegiance to the flag of the United States. A student may choose not to participate in the salute to the United States and the flag; however, a student who does not participate in the salute shall maintain a respectful silence during the salute. The national anthem may be sung during any school day or school event.
Observation and commemoration of special days and events will be considered a valuable part of the instructional program of the school.
