In 2013, the South Dakota Legislature established the Workforce Education Fund, which designated up to $1.5 million to provide grants for Career & Technical Education (CTE) programs in secondary schools.
Workforce Education Grants provide South Dakota school districts the opportunity to make transformative change in CTE programs and increase the opportunities for students to access high quality CTE programs.
The guidance/application for the NEW Workforce Education Grant is now available at http://doe.sd.gov/octe/WEG.aspx.
The Workforce Education Grants will be awarded during the summer of 2016 through a competitive submission and review process. The grants are one-time awards, but if additional grants are available in the future from the fund, districts will not be re-awarded funds to sustain the initial award.
