Veteran and new school board presidents/chairs alike should join ASBSD Leadership Development Director Dr. Randall Royer at one of ASBSD’s upcoming School Board President Workshops, which will assist them in understanding their role and responsibility in planning and facilitating regular and special school board meetings.

 

From assembling an agenda to adjourning the meeting and beyond, this workshop will help board chairs/presidents take control of the meetings and make them effective, efficient, and legal.  Attending Board Presidents/Chairs will also learn how to control Public to Be Heard or Open Forum sections of meetings. ​

 

Other topics will include handling ‘rogue’ Board members and complaints from parents or patrons. Proper use of Parliamentary Procedure will also be discussed. Time for questions, comments, and discussion will be included as well.

The cost of each workshop is $60 per registrant. Lunch will be provided at the Aberdeen and Rapid City workshops, but NOT at the Sioux Falls workshop.
