November04: SD EPSCoR grants available

South Dakota EPSCoR – Education/Workforce Development is looking for innovators in the area of career and technical education that would like to create or improve a program that allows students to explore STEM related disciplines. SD EPSCoR will grant approximately $170,000 for applications submitted by school districts and educational service providers in South Dakota.

November02: Suicide prevention training provided by ASBSD and SafeSchools

SafeSchools offers South Dakota school districts a one hour suicide awareness and prevention training course, which meets the state’s training requirement for the initial certificate and renewal certificate of a teacher, administrator or other educational professional. The Youth Suicide Awareness and Prevention training requirement comes from the passage of 2016’s Senate Bill 129, which establishes certain suicide awareness
