2020 Academic Excellence Luncheon cancelled, students still to be recognized

Due to the outbreak of the Coronavirus, ASBSD has cancelled the 2020 Academic Excellence Luncheon.

The annual luncheon, which is held in conjunction with Gov Kristi Noem’s office, honors the best and brightest of the graduating class.

“We’re disappointed to have to cancel the luncheon, but it is in the best interest of public safety,” ASBSD Executive Director Wade Pogany said.

ASBSD is working in conjunction with Gov. Noem to provide your district’s honoree a certificate and letter signed by the Governor. We will provide those items to you to give to your student, when available.

In addition, ASBSD will provide your local media outlets with a press release honoring your district’s student.

“Every year, we look forward to this event, but this dangerous outbreak necessitates we take every action to ensure the safety of all parties involved,” Pogany said.
