Great turnout for ASBSD’s Legislative Day

Senate Ed. stops anti-Common Core bill

Senate Education committee members stopped a bill that called for the repeal of the Common Core Standards on Tuesday.   The committee voted 5-2 to kill Senate Bill 129. ASBSD opposed the bill.   “School boards are in support of Common Core,” ASBSD Executive Director Wade Pogany said. “We debated this (issue) throughout the summer.

Three percent bill through Senate

South Dakota Senators showed their support for the three percent increase proposed by Gov. Funding bills fall in House Appropriations

Tech, certificate and hours bills advance
