Need information on Common Core?

There’s now a website filled with it: www.commoncore.sd.gov.

The website comes from a collaborative effort between five South Dakota education groups – ASBSD, South Dakota DOE, SASD, SDEA and the Board of Regents – promoting the merits of Common Core.

On the site you’ll find sections devoted to in-depth explanation of the math and English language arts standards, what sets the standards apart from prior standards, why they benefit students and how and where the standards originated.

You can also watch a variety of videos dedicated to explaining Common Core and its merits and a news section for the latest articles covering the standards.

“The website is the hub of information for Common Core,” ASBSD Executive Director Wade Pogany said. “If you have questions you’ll find the answer there.”
