New and veteran school board members looking to learn more about the roles and responsibilities associated with their service should join ASBSD Leadership Development Director Dr. Randall Royer at one of ASBSD’s upcoming Board Member Roles and Responsibilities Workshops.

 

“These events will be beneficial for newly elected, as well as experienced board members,” Royer said.

 

“New board members should invite and encourage their fellow board members to join them at a workshop and and learn as a team!”

 

The workshops will focus on school board governance, education law for board members, policy making, board-superintendent relationships, the difference between governance and management, and board meeting procedures and protocols.

The cost of each workshop is $60 per registrant. A meal will be provided at the Rapid City and Aberdeen workshops, but NOT at the Sioux Falls workshop.
