HB 1150: Requires the reciting of the pledge of allegiance each school day in every public school.

 

SDCL 13-24-17.2 was amended by House Bill 1150.

 

As of July 1, 2014, each school district must provide all students the opportunity to salute the United States and the flag, each day, by reciting the pledge of allegiance to the flag, a student may choose not to participate, and a student who does not participate in the salute shall “maintain a respectful silence” during the pledge of allegiance.
