To help you prepare for the 2015-16 school year, we’ve prepared a calendar of ASBSD events.

Packed with convenient and informative training and general sessions, the 2015-16 ASBSD events calendar includes a fall schedule with nine Region Meetings located across the state, three school law seminars – in Sioux Falls, Pierre and Rapid City – that will again offer a Tuesday night bonus session related to a board specific topic and Delegate Assembly, which sets the legislative direction for the Association.

 

After the ringing in of the New Year, ASBSD LAN Trainings and Collective Bargaining Workshops will be held in January. This coming year the two events will be held on the same days (Saturday) and locations (Brookings, Chamberlain and Rapid City) to make for convenient traveling for attendees from the same school district and/or geographical area.

 

With legislative session in full swing, February brings ASBSD’s Legislative Day, which offers board members and administrators the opportunity to meet and have lunch with their area legislators, visit the Capitol and honor the school board member of the year and school board award of excellence winners.

 

In April, ASBSD, in conjunction with the office of Gov. Dennis Daugaard, will honor the top students from the Class of 2016 at the Academic Excellence Luncheon.

We ask that Business Managers continue to complete registration for individuals who wish to attend an ASBSD event. Registration instructions will be provided well advance of events, as they are now.

 

Please note:

• Not all events have a registration link posted on our Events page, but one will be added prior to the event.
• ASBSD Board of Directors meetings and the Academic Excellence Luncheon will not have a registration link added.
• Registration for the Election Workshops held in November is done through the South Dakota Municipal League.
