To recognize the efforts school board members make to improve in their leadership role, the ASBSD Board of Directors established the Better Boardsmanship recognition program.
The award honors those board members who participate in continuing education programs, serve in leadership roles at the local, state and national level and participate in activities that demonstrate their commitment to improving in their role as a board member.
Eligibility for the ASBSD Better Boardsmanship Award of Merit requires an individual to have earned a total of 50 boardsmanship points from June 1, 2012 through May 31, 2013.
A list of approved events and their point values are contained on the application form, which can be downloaded here.
Please complete and return the attached application form by June 14, 2013. Note: only board members who have submitted applications will be considered for the award.

School board members will be recognized and presented with the ASBSD Better Boardsmanship Award of Merit at the 2013 ASBSD and SASD Convention.
