DHS releases school safety resource

The Department of Homeland Security recently released a helpful school safety resource.

DHS’s Office of Academic Engagement published Exercise Starter Kits, which are focused on an active shooter incident and are part of the Campus Resilience (CR) Program, for the K-12 community.

The Exercise Starter Kits are self-conducted tabletop exercises (TTX) that provide schools with a set of scalable tools to develop a plan tailored to validate or update their existing emergency operations plans, policies and procedures, while also identifying issues, gaps and areas for improvement in response to an active shooter incident.

To obtain an Exercise Starter Kit, please fill complete the request form, which can be accessed by clicking here.
