A devastating tornado struck the town of Delmont on May 10 leaving a swath of destruction in its path and residents displaced.

 

The Delmont Disaster Relief Fund was established at First State Bank locations in Delmont, Tripp, Armour and Geddes. Donations can be made at any location or mailed to First State Bank, P.O. Box 68, Delmont, SD 57330.

 

Donations for Delmont and its residents can also be made to the Red Cross by visiting www.redcross.org, calling 1-800-RED CROSS or texting the word REDCROSS to 90999.

 

Volunteers are being allowed into Delmont to assist with clean up. Those wishing to help must have a valid driver’s license or ID card and can register at the Volunteer Reception Center, which is located on the south end of town at the baseball field.

 

Donations can be dropped off at the Delmont American Legion Hall between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. each day of the week.
