A bill proposing a minor adjustment to local election ballots is on its way to the governor’s desk.
Following a 7-0 vote by the Senate Local Government committee and a vote of 35-0 by the Senate, House Bill 1034, which revises certain provisions concerning local government elections, has just one more step in the legislative process.
ASBSD is monitoring the bill.
HB 1034 was introduced by the Secretary of State’s office and SOS Shantel Krebs has noted in testimony the change would assign a color to the individual ballots for city and school district elections in order to assist voters in determining which ballot pertained to which local election.
