Rapid City School Board 2nd Vice President Mike Roesler will join the Associated School Boards of South Dakota’s Board of Directors.
Roesler – who was elected to the Rapid City Board of Education in 2017 – was appointed to represent the district on the ASBSD Board. The Rapid City School District receives a seat on the ASBSD Board of Directors because their enrollment exceeds 10,000 students.
A resident of Rapid City for nearly 50 years, Roesler served on the Rapid City Fire Department for more than 30 years, the last ten as Battalion Chief, and worked as an adjunct instructor at Western Dakota Tech in their Fire Science program.
“Mike brings extensive knowledge of public service, having served decades on the Rapid City Fire Department, and a great passion for public education,” ASBSD Executive Director Wade Pogany said.
“His involvement and effort will benefit ASBSD and we look forward to working with him.”
