The ASBSD Board Recognition Program – ALL: Act, Learn, Lead – recognizes board members’ participation in outside activities, board development and training, and demonstrated leadership at a variety of levels.

As school boards head toward the fall months, we’ve tallied up the “ALL Scoreboard” which shows the ten most active school boards – in terms of event attendance, training and leadership – thus far:
- Howard School Board – 890 points
- Yankton School Board – 645 points
- Todd County School Board – 530 points
- Bon Homme School Board – 520 points
- Douglas School Board – 500 points
- Haakon School Board – 480 points
- Parker School Board – 420 points
- Sioux Falls School Board – 375 points
- (Tie) Garretson and Marion School Boards – 360 points
How did these school boards accumulate points to this point?
By participating in ASBSD activities, training opportunities and demonstrating leadership at the local, state and national level. Points are totaled throughout the fiscal year (July 1-June 30), but GAVEL Training (face-to-face or School Board U) counts for a total of three years (2014-15, 2015-16 and 2016-17) under Learning Opportunities. Boards can earn Gold, Silver and Bronze awards for their point totals.

Including the previous two years of learning opportunities, 116 districts have accumulated ALL points, with 89 districts having scored points in July and August of this year!
