A bill that proposes a minor adjustment to local election ballots passed the House.
On 13-0 vote at Thursday’s (1/21) meeting, members of House Local Government committee passed House Bill 1034, which revises certain provisions concerning local government elections, and recommended it be placed on the House’s consent calendar. The House also passed the bill on Friday (1/22).
ASBSD is monitoring the bill.
HB 1034 was introduced by the Secretary of State’s office and SOS Shantel Krebs noted in testimony the change would assign a color to the individual ballots for city and school district elections in order to assist voters in determining which ballot pertained to which local election.
The bill now moves to the Senate.
