Members of the ASBSD Board of Directors recently elected Madison Central School Board President Tom Farrell to the Association’s 2nd Vice President position at their August meeting.
Farrell has served on the ASBSD Board of Directors since 2014, as the representative for the Southeast Region’s 700-1,399 enrollment category, and as a member of the ASBSD Policy and Resolutions committee. He joins the ASBSD Executive Team comprised of President Anita Peterson, 1st Vice President Todd Thoelke and Past President Eric Stroeder.
“The opportunity to serve in a leadership role with ASBSD is an honor,” Farrell said. “I look forward to advocating for the students, staff members and school boards of our public school districts.”
Currently serving his seventh year on the Madison Central School Board, Farrell is in his fifth year as School Board President, previously sat on the district’s high school renovation committee, has represented his local district as a member of ASBSD’s Legislative Action Network and presented at ASBSD’s School Board President’s Retreat. He is an Associate Professor Emeritus with Dakota State University.
“We’re excited to have Tom join our Executive Committee,” ASBSD Executive Director Wade Pogany said.
“He’s put in a great deal of time and energy into education at many levels and his experience is a great attribution to ASBSD leadership.”
